Ne sciocca ple fridd!

Courtesy of my cousin living in Carovilli, we present the town’s dialect of the past. Combined with back stories and interesting tidbits, I am happy to have this feature part of carovilli.ca! In Italian.

The name of the site is called Ne sciocca ple frid. Which means “it’s too cold that it can’t even snow”!

  1. I happened to be in Castiglione at the same time the cousins from Denver were there, I also participated in all of the events descrbibed, and would appreciate it if that would also be on record.

After the visit to Castiglione I mentioned the people from Denver to my mother Beata Di Giacomo-Ricci (died 4-29-07)and she recalled many of their ancestors, she said some were also related to her.

one dialect frase that I spoke recently and no one present had ever heard of it was: Manghi na tareia! meaning: Niente proprio niente! Nothing at all!
